Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely credited with initiating the contemporary research into the study of eyewitness memory and child victimes as witness in court circumstances. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded many awards and grants. She has provided advice on policy and research for numerous government agencies and departments across the world. She currently serves as advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of numerous professional associations, including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has been president of American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division and three Divisions of Children and Families Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
